Client Services interviews each individual to determine the most effective way that MBK can assist them through their crisis and help them to obtain self sufficiency.  MBK serves any one qualifying for services without regards to race, gender, ethnicity or religion.

Assistance can be any or all of the following:

Financial Assistance – individuals or families is provided for a documented crisis, primarily for rent and utilities.   Clients that are seeking employment may sign up to use our computer room for internet access.  Also, they are given information on any jobs that we may have information on at the time of their visit.

Food Pantry
The Food Pantry supplies food to individuals and families who have established a need through Client Services.

The MBK Pantry depends on food drives, individual donations and financial contributions to provide its services.  During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays special packages are prepared and distributed.

Computer Resource Lab
Our Computer Resource Lab provides the following:  Computer access to create resumes and/or update resumes.  Internet access for on-line job search.  In addition, employment postings from businesses in our community and the Houston area are posted on our bulletin board.

Basic computer classes of MS Office are offered throughout the year.

Special Programs
School Supply Drive – As the new school year approaches students need to be equipped with the required items to help ensure that they are successful learners.

Each year MBK receives donations of school supplies and purchases grade appropriate school supplies for the students registered in the Inspiring Minds School Supply Program.

Holiday Programs

Thanksgiving Meal Program – Each year MBK provides many clients with a traditional Thanksgiving meal that can be prepared to their own liking.  These families otherwise would not have a Thanksgiving meal without our help.

Children’s Christmas Social – Each year MBK gives children from one year old to twelve years of age a present.  Without this gift, many of these children would not have any Christmas presents.

Easter Outreach Social – Each year MBK gives children from one year old to twelve years of age an Easter basket with a set of Resurrection Eggs.  We also celebrate with other outside activities and refreshments.
